The arrest in Serbia of a Serb from Istog has prompted a reaction from security expert Gurakuç Kuçi. Serbian authorities claim that the person in question committed “espionage” by providing information about a mass grave.

The arrest occurred just days after excavations began in Kalludër e Vogël, Zubin Potok. A mass grave linked to the most recent war in Kosovo is suspected to be located in the area, while human remains and clothing have been discovered during the search.
In a statement posted on Facebook, Kuçi said the case reflects Belgrade’s approach to uncovering the truth about war crimes.
According to him, as soon as the search for the victims began, the authorities in Belgrade portrayed the effort to bring the truth to light as an act of espionage.
Kuçi said this behavior demonstrates Serbia’s fear that facts about mass graves will be uncovered and that justice will be delivered for missing persons.
Meanwhile, Serbian authorities announced that R.T. had been arrested on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of espionage, alleging that he had collaborated with Kosovo’s intelligence services.
