Israel and Hamas Agree on Second Phase in Gaza, Trump Says Disarmament Will Guarantee Peace

In a statement posted on the Truth Social platform, the White House chief described the development as a historic step on the path toward peace.

“Today, the Board of Peace has reached a historic agreement on the complete disarmament of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza. This is a monumental step toward lasting peace and security,” he wrote.

Trump explained that once the disarmament process is complete, Israeli troops will withdraw from the Gaza Strip. Security in the territory will then be guaranteed by an International Stabilization Force, which will operate in cooperation with a new Palestinian police force in the interests of Gaza’s population and neighboring countries.

The agreement was also confirmed by Hamas representatives. Ghazi Hamad, a member of the Palestinian group’s negotiating delegation, said Hamas remains committed to its national objectives and to defending the rights of the Palestinian people.

According to Hamad, the issue of weapons cannot be addressed separately from the other provisions of the agreement, including Israel’s withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and the reconstruction of the territory.

“We will not take any action unless the occupying forces comply with the obligations set out in the agreement,” Hamad said.
