PS Proposes Merging Maliq with Korçë, Residents Warn of Protest on Sunday

Residents of Maliq Municipality announced this Thursday that they will protest against the new territorial map, which provides for the dissolution of 15 municipalities. Maliq is included in the proposed changes, as the PS wants the municipality to be merged with Korçë. The protest has been called for Sunday at 19:00 in front of the municipal building.

The draft law provides for 28 municipalities to be grouped into 13 new municipalities. The list of local government units proposed for dissolution includes Fushë-Arrëz, Klos, Rrogozhinë, Dimal, Poliçan, Patos, Divjakë, Selenicë, Maliq, Këlcyrë, Memaliaj, Libohovë, Cërrik, Belsh and Përrenjas.
