In a response on social media, Rama suggested that the allegations against him were politically motivated, pointing out that they were published on the day the Assembly of the Democratic League of Kosovo was being held.
“Vetëvendosje’s entire propaganda machine has apparently swung into action against me today, on the day of the LDK Assembly! Interesting!” Rama wrote.
Earlier in the day, Berita Abazi and Çlirim Gerbeshi, VV municipal councilors in Pristina, said at a press conference that they had received a whistleblower email. According to them, it contains communications that raise suspicions about the unlawful legalization of buildings, while large sums of money are also mentioned.
Based on these suspicions, they announced that they had filed a criminal complaint against Rama and officials from his cabinet, requesting that the case be investigated by the justice authorities.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, several “screenshots” mentioning members of Rama’s cabinet also circulated on the social media platform Snapchat.
