New details have emerged from the tragic accident in Pogradec, where Kristaq Çulaku, around 65 years old, lost his life after being accidentally injured by a cutting tool, a truncheon/fresible type, while working in his home.

His neighbors recount the final moments of the 65-year-old’s life and the efforts to help him after the accident.
One of the neighbors says she had met him that morning and that the victim had told her he was going to Korçë. He then returned home and started working.
“He came here, saw the rabbits, and then went and got the truncheon, whatever he was going to do. We were surprised when we heard shouting. We came and found him gone. The ambulance arrived half an hour later,” she recounts.
Another resident says she saw him shortly before the incident, while he was busy with housework.
“He told me the rabbits had grown. He asked me for a small pot to plant basil. He told me that when he returned from Korça, he would fill my gas canister. I didn’t think this would happen,” the neighbor says.
She also recounts the difficult moments after the accident: “When I went, I called him: Kiço, Kiço. I poured water on him, but he didn’t respond at all. He looked me in the eye and just kept saying ‘oh’. I called people, because I couldn’t grab him from fear. His body was covered in blood.”
According to area residents, the 65-year-old lived alone. His two sons are in London, while his wife lives in Greece.
