The world of French and international electronic music has been swept by a wave of grief following the passing of Vincent Belorgey, widely known as DJ and producer Kavinsky, at the age of 50.
The Paris prosecutor’s office confirmed that the artist’s lifeless body was discovered at his residence on Tuesday. Authorities have opened an investigation to clarify the exact circumstances of the death, while it is reported that the first police officers on the scene found no signs indicating a criminal act.

Kavinsky achieved international fame thanks to his 2010 track “Nightcall,” a collaboration with Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo from the legendary group Daft Punk. This melody exploded into planetary success after being selected as part of the soundtrack for the 2011 film “Drive,” starring Ryan Gosling, turning it into an anthem of the synthwave and electronic music genre.
His artistic legacy also includes a magnificent appearance at the closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where he contributed to the spectacle’s rich musical program.
