Former mayor in Ecuador arrested by authorities, accused as the financial backer of the “Los Lobos” cartel

Law enforcement forces in Ecuador today arrested a former mayor, identified as the main source of finances for the criminal group Los Lobos, which is involved in drug trafficking and illegal mining.

According to Interior Minister John Ryberg, the person in question is Elias Baldor Bermeo, nicknamed “BB”, and represents “the central financier of one of the most murderous groups the country has ever seen.
