A serious tragedy has struck a construction site in the capital, where the collapse of a crane killed one person and left another injured.

The serious incident occurred today on “A” Street in Pristina, during ongoing works. The heavy machinery suddenly collapsed, trapping workers who were nearby.
The spokesperson for the Pristina regional police, Enis Pllana, in a communication for “Bota sot” provided the first official details. He announced that two individuals sustained bodily injuries and were urgently transported to the hospital.
“Regarding this incident, we confirm that two citizens were injured and were immediately sent for medical assistance. Unfortunately, the wounds of one of them proved fatal, and doctors at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo pronounced the loss of life,” Pllana said.
He added that police forces arrived without delay at the accident scene and conducted all preliminary procedures. A full investigation has already been launched, under the direction of the State Prosecutor, to clarify the dynamics and causes of this tragic event.
