The Prime Minister’s Office announced that the discussions focused on the security situation in the country, interaction between Kosovo institutions and the North Atlantic Alliance, as well as prospects for expanded and deepened cooperation.

Kurti expressed gratitude to Admiral Wikoff for the commitment that NATO, through KFOR, shows in ensuring a calm and secure environment for all residents and communities in Kosovo, thus contributing to the peace and stability of the country and the Western Balkans.

In a public post, the Prime Minister announced that this was his second meeting with the American Admiral, following the one held in January.

“We are grateful for NATO’s dedication to a calm and safe environment for all citizens and all communities, as well as for the continuous contribution to sustainable peace and long-term stability in our Republic and throughout the Western Balkan region,” wrote Kurti.

He added that the conversation with Admiral Wikoff also covered the progress of security issues and the strengthening of relations between Kosovo’s institutions and NATO.

This meeting takes place in line with the steady partnership between Kosovo and the Alliance, with the primary aim of maintaining stability and security at the country and regional level.
