In a touching statement, Lyle Landers said that for five consecutive years he had offered help to his ex-wife to leave the relationship, which he said was filled with domestic violence.
“She was trapped in a relationship where violence seemed to have become normal. I begged her for five years to leave him. I offered help in every possible way, but it seemed like he had some kind of control over her, and she couldn’t escape,” he said.

Landers said that he and Sara had divorced seven years ago but had maintained a good relationship for the sake of their two children.
He described his ex-wife as an extraordinary mother, saying her dedication to her children was incomparable.
“Sara was a wonderful mother and would have given her life for her children. In the end, her attempt to protect them led to her death,” he said.

He added that he will always remember Sara as a person full of love and kindness, who did not judge others and who considered raising her two children the greatest achievement of her life.
The tragedy occurred on June 23 at a home in Tulsa County, Oklahoma, where police found Sara and her partner, Duffey, dead.
According to preliminary investigations, he killed the influencer and then took his own life.
Just two weeks before her death, Sara had posted a video on social media that went viral with over 21 million views, in which she publicly accused her partner of being a pedophile.
