In his public response, the LDK leader said he had not considered the assembly necessary, describing it as premature and divisive. Nevertheless, he said he had accepted the process in the name of democracy.

“I have called the LDK Extraordinary Assembly. As they requested, for my dismissal,” he wrote.

Abdixhiku emphasized that during his five years at the helm of the LDK, he has appeared before the party membership four times. On three of those occasions, he said, he himself had sought a vote of confidence from the delegates.

He noted that in the LDK’s 37-year history, this is the first time that a unilateral request has been submitted to dismiss a party leader.

According to Abdixhiku, such a process harms the party and could further deepen divisions within it. He also said that neither the right time, place nor method had been chosen for this development.

Despite these views, the LDK leader said he would appear before the Assembly “with conviction, calm and complete confidence” in the party’s members and delegates.

Concluding his message, Abdixhiku urged delegates to attend, saying that the Assembly could become a decisive moment in giving the LDK the clarity it needs.

“On Thursday, July 30, we will determine the LDK’s course. After that, let us determine the Republic’s course,” Abdixhiku concluded.
