Her death was confirmed to TMZ by her father, Joshua Hottle, who said his daughter died in a car accident early Tuesday. He also said he had to travel from Texas to retrieve her body.
According to him, Kaylee had been involved in a serious accident, and authorities informed him shortly after the initial report that her heart had stopped on the way to the hospital. Details surrounding the accident have not been disclosed.
Kaylee Hottle was born in Atlanta and first appeared on camera in commercials at the age of nine.
She gained wider recognition in the 2021 film “Godzilla vs. Kong,” in which she played Jia, a teenage girl who communicates with King Kong using sign language and lives on Skull Island with Dr. Ilene Andrews, played by Rebecca Hall. She reprised the role in the 2024 film “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.”
She also appeared in the rebooted series “Magnum P.I.,” playing a character named Joon in an episode of the fourth season.
