The Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office has announced that it is taking steps to check the quality of drinking water in Gostivar.
According to the institution’s statement, the actions are being carried out on the orders of a public prosecutor, following a report submitted in connection with the quality of drinking water.

The response comes after a large number of citizens sought treatment at the city’s emergency department with similar health complaints, mainly vomiting and diarrhoea.
Some of the people who experienced these symptoms also reacted on social media, expressing suspicion that this was not food poisoning but possible problems with the quality of drinking water.
So far, neither the Municipality nor the municipal water supply company has provided an explanation to citizens.
