Taulant Balla, head of the Socialist parliamentary group, sharply mocked the Democratic Party for their absence in today’s plenary session.
According to him, the reason for the opposition MPs’ non-appearance was due to the fact that they had filed a criminal complaint with SPAK against Prime Minister Edi Rama, precisely because of the Kanye West concert.

In a sarcastic tone, Balla stated that the opposition has identified another threat to Albanians, describing this action as laughable news on a global scale. He emphasized that a political force with around 35 deputies in the Albanian Parliament, representing a not insignificant parliamentary group, has undertaken such a legal initiative.
Further, Balla pointed out that paradoxically, the complaint was made in the name of the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party, targeting either the artist or the organizers of such a major event. He also mentioned that an accountant, occasionally engaged by the DP for financial analyses, tried to dismiss experts’ reports that spoke of huge economic benefits for the country.
Balla reiterated that these positive calculations for the Albanian economy were immediately confirmed in other countries as well. He concluded his intervention by underscoring that that day was not just a moment, but a powerful image for Albania.
