Speaking on the program “Now with Erla Mëhilli,” criminology expert Ervin Karamuço explained that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan gave the leaders who took part in the NATO Summit in Ankara a special gift: a personalized pistol bearing each of their names, accompanied by ammunition.
He stressed that Prime Minister Edi Rama also received such a gift, while noting that it remains to be seen how it will be brought to Albania, given the rules related to firearms and ammunition.

“Today, one of the things Ankara showcased were the gifts given to leaders when they departed — pistols. President Erdogan distributed to world leaders a personalized pistol with their names on it and with real bullets. I don’t know the message, because I’m not from that field, I can’t give the political message. They are very elite products, real combat firearms, Canik, with real bullets, placed in a small suitcase personalized with each leader’s name. Our prime minister received one as well. I don’t know whether he will bring it to Albania or not, because there are some laws on how this works, including in international legislation. The bullets are part of the set. For example, the British prime minister did not agree to take it with him, he left it at the embassy in order to respect firearms laws, but he will receive it by another route,” Karamuço said.
