For 39 consecutive days, the square in front of the Prime Minister’s Office has continued to fill with protesters, while their demand remains the same: the removal of Edi Rama from the post of prime minister.
One of the participants in the rally addressed the head of government in harsh tones, accusing him of increasingly marking himself every day as the most unsuitable person for that position. He said Albania is not being humiliated because Kanye West is not singing, but because no tests are carried out in state hospitals during the last week of every month. According to him, the country is also being shamed by the situation at the Oncology Hospital, where there is trauma almost every day and radiotherapy is lacking, the essential equipment for treating breast cancer. The protester added that Albania is being shamed by the absence of a Scan in the hospital inventory, while citizens suffering from tumors are forced to pay more than 1,500 euros. He linked this to education as well, saying it is degrading every day, and ended his remarks by asking how he was not ashamed to give 4 million euros to a singer.

The revolt was also joined by another protester, who came from France and likewise demanded Rama’s departure.
She said she was born and raised here, while today she lives in France, but remains a daughter of this country and comes with the hope of living in Albania. According to her, the country is heading toward degradation because of high prices and the lack of healthcare and other services. She said that every day people talk about Zvërnec and the Vjosa, while she chooses to speak about Golem, stressing that she is the daughter of Golem, which has been massacred and ruined. “From the front of the hotel it looks beautiful, from the back it looks bad,” she said, adding that they are disappointed with this country. The protester recalled that for 36 years, according to her, the blood of this people has been drained, and she called on citizens not to give up, but to continue every day. In the end, she demanded that the people no longer be tortured.
