Algeria remained in contention to qualify for the World Cup knockout stage after coming from behind to beat Jordan 2-1 in their Group J match.
The first half produced only one goal. In the 36th minute, Nizar Al Rashdan sent the ball past goalkeeper Alziz Luca Zidane to give Jordan the lead.

Up to that point, it seemed Jordan would be the team fighting in the final round for a place in the round of 16, but Algeria responded afterward and shut down any chance of them advancing further.
The equalizer came in the 69th minute, when Nadir Benbouali scored for 1-1, while in the 82nd minute Amine Gouiri netted the goal that sealed Algeria’s 2-1 victory.
In the final round, Algeria will face Austria on June 28 at 04:00. With a win, they would qualify as the second-placed team, but they also have a good chance of advancing with a draw as one of the third-placed teams.
Argentina have already secured first place, while if the match ends in a draw, Austria would go through in second position. In that scenario, Algeria would most likely rank among the eight best third-placed teams.
