Prime Minister Edi Rama has unveiled a new online platform called “Folmekm.al,” through which he aims to create a channel for communication and dialogue with students. Efforts to hold face-to-face meetings have been rejected by the young people, who have been calling for his resignation for several months.
For several weeks, students have rejected Prime Minister Edi Rama’s invitation to dialogue. He had placed several chairs marked “dialogue” outside the prime minister’s office, followed later by a stone table.

Students have continued to reject these invitations.
At the launch of the new portal, the prime minister said the platform would be open 24 hours a day and serve as a bridge for exchanging information and opinions.
One notable detail, however, is that anyone wishing to enter into dialogue will have to log in through e-Albania, allowing the prime minister to identify citizens.
The head of government expressed confidence that the initiative could help overcome the tense situation. He said he believed the ice, which he described as artificially created, would melt and dialogue would take place.
“Anyone who wants to communicate, to enter into a dialogue at a time when we are coming out of a period of protests, escalation, violence, pressure, threats and attempts to prevent dialogue at all costs—this is the bridge built for you. A working bridge, a bridge open 24 hours a day, a bridge where a dedicated team will ensure the flow of all the information and opinions exchanged. This is where we stand at this stage, because I believe that sooner rather than later, the ice artificially created by those who think they can impose their will on society, on democratic coexistence and on everyone who thinks differently from them will melt. In the meantime, we are taking advantage of this golden opportunity that technology gives us. You have it on your computer; you have it on your phone screen. Welcome to ‘Dialogue,’” Rama said.
