From January to September 2026, North Macedonia recorded 1,337 criminal offences related to domestic violence, the Ministry of Interior announced. A total of 1,388 perpetrators were reported in connection with these cases: 1,278 men and 110 women. The number of victims reached 1,433, including 289 men and 1,144 women.
The ministry’s figures for these nine months also include 3,869 domestic violence complaints. These involved 3,971 reported perpetrators, comprising 3,090 men and 881 women, while 3,961 victims were recorded: 1,394 men and 2,567 women.

During the same period, authorities registered 191 misdemeanours related to domestic violence. These involved 228 reported perpetrators, including 196 men and 32 women, and 221 victims: 126 men and 95 women.
The ministry is urging citizens to report every case of domestic violence promptly, rather than conceal it or remain silent.
According to the ministry, both people experiencing domestic violence and those aware of such cases can report them at the nearest police station or by calling 112 and 19.
