Belgium’s King Philippe has rejected the resignation submitted by Prime Minister Bart De Wever. The decision gives the governing coalition more time to agree on a new budget and measures to cut public spending.
The Royal Palace announced the decision on Friday as the government struggled to reach a compromise among coalition partners on the budget plan.
