European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos described the election result as an opportunity to open a new chapter in relations between Serbia and Brussels.
“A new chapter may begin for Serbia. The EU’s doors are open, and we are ready to move forward together,” Kos said in a written statement.
She congratulated the Student List and said that Serbian citizens made their voices heard by turning out to vote in historic numbers. According to her, the vote took place after nearly two years of protests for democracy, the rule of law and the fight against corruption.
