Nine suspects accused of fraud through call centers remanded in custody for one month

The Basic Court in Pristina, through its General Department and Division for Criminal Matters, has approved the request of the Basic Prosecution in Ferizaj to remand nine defendants in custody: T.S., D.M., D.H., R.H., P.R., A.P., F.Z., D.H. and B.E. All of them will remain in custody for one month on suspicion of committing the criminal offenses of fraud and computer fraud. The measure was imposed by the pretrial judge following a hearing.

According to the court’s announcement, detention was deemed necessary because of the risk that the defendants might flee. Three of them are German citizens, while their frequent trips abroad were assessed as a circumstance reinforcing this risk.

Another reason relates to the possibility that the suspects could obstruct the criminal proceedings by concealing, altering or destroying material evidence, as well as by exerting influence over the injured parties, witnesses or co-participants.

The authorities have reasonable grounds to suspect that, from 2026 until 23 October 2026, at various locations in Pristina used as call centers, the defendants acted in an organized and coordinated manner. Each of them is suspected of having a specific role in the scheme to unlawfully obtain property.

The statement said that the suspects presented false information, persuaded foreign nationals to take actions that harmed their property, and presented themselves as representatives of financial investment companies.
