Kurti calls for election turnout: Vote for the “Albanian Coalition” with number 17

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has called on Albanians in Presheva, Bujanoc and Medvegja to support the “Albanian Coalition” list, numbered 17, in tomorrow’s elections. He also addressed his compatriots who are currently in Kosovo but are eligible to vote in the three municipalities, urging them to travel to their hometowns to cast their ballots.

In a public address published on October 24, Kurti recalled his September 29 meeting with the leaders of Albanian political entities. At that meeting, he said, an agreement was reached for the parties to run together under the “Albanian Coalition” list.

According to Kurti, Albanians living in Presheva, Bujanoc and Medvegja should have the opportunity to build their lives in their hometowns, with equal conditions and opportunities.

He listed discrimination, exclusion and oppression among the problems that, in his view, must be addressed through solidarity, determination and participation in democratic processes.

“Tomorrow is the day to express your will. Through your vote, each and every one of you decides on representation, with resistance as the response,” Kurti said.

The head of the Kosovo government urged all citizens eligible to vote in the three municipalities who are currently in Kosovo to return to their hometowns and take part in the elections.

Kurti made a special appeal to Albanians living in Presheva, Bujanoc and Medvegja, calling on them to mobilize and turn out in large numbers to vote for list number 17.

At the end of his message, Kurti emphasized the impact a vote can have on citizens’ future.

“The ballot paper weighs little in your hand, but the decision weighs on the future,” he concluded.
