PDK MP Rrustem Mustafa has called for unity and state responsibility in defending the four former KLA leaders in The Hague during the appeals phase, which follows the first-instance guilty verdict.
According to Mustafa, the law had the necessary political and state-level impact, bringing people together around a common position and opening a way forward. He stressed that defending his fellow fighters now requires uninterrupted work on the legal, diplomatic and state fronts.

Mustafa described the Kosovo Assembly’s vote to amend the Law on Specialist Chambers, the election of the president and the joint chants of “KLA” as proof that national unity can be achieved.
In his post, which opened with the words “National unity, state responsibility” and “A New Era!”, he recalled the repeated chant: “KLA! KLA! KLA!” These actions, he said, showed that unity is not only possible but also necessary when the interests of the homeland are at stake.
He called for prudence, determination and coordination among institutions so that the truth can be heard and the rights of his fellow fighters can be defended by every legal and diplomatic means. Mustafa said this responsibility transcends parties, interests and political calculations.
Describing the liberation war as part of the nation’s history and dignity, he said that the duty to the homeland, to those who sacrificed, and to future generations should unite everyone. Mustafa warned that efforts to use this issue for narrow interests would not succeed.
He ended his post with a call for unity, seriousness and joint action, with dignity and responsibility through to the end.
