According to government sources, the agency heads affected by this initiative will remain in their posts, as the first phase of the process involves only formalizing their resignations in writing.
The second phase is expected to involve a review of the performance of each agency head who has submitted a resignation before further steps are decided. So far, the government has made no official comment on this wave of resignations.
In total, more than 130 heads of state agencies at the central and local levels are expected to submit the requested resignations.
Prime Minister Rama’s initiative aims to review the leadership of state institutions, with the next phase expected to focus on assessing agency heads’ performance in line with the principle of meritocracy in public administration.
