Two education unions will join the nationwide student protest planned for Saturday, October 24, 2026. Following confirmation from the Independent Education Union of Albania (SPASH), the United Albanian Education Union (SBASH) has also announced its participation, expressing support for students and higher education employees.
The program announced by SPASH foresees its representatives gathering first outside the Prime Minister’s Office, where the protest will begin at 11:00. At 14:00, they will move to the Ministry of Education to join the students and support their demands.

In its public announcement regarding its participation, SBASH expressed solidarity with the Union of Higher Education Employees and confirmed that it would attend the national student protest on Saturday, October 24.
According to SBASH, this commitment is linked to the goal of creating an education system that offers greater justice and dignity. The union has summed up this position in the slogan: “For a fairer, more dignified education!”
SPASH, for its part, accompanied its decision to participate in the rally with a statement of support for pupils, students and lecturers in defending their rights. The union is calling for the voice of the education community to be heard and respected, while standing alongside efforts to improve education and secure a better future for the younger generations.
The participation of both unions expands the organized support that the education community is providing to the student movement. This support comes as young people continue their protests and demand changes in the country.

The Independent Education Union of Albania expresses its solidarity with and support for Saturday’s rally, standing alongside pupils, students and lecturers in their efforts to defend their rights.
For SPASH, hearing and respecting the voice of the education community is essential. The union supports every initiative that serves better education, dignity and the future of the younger generations.
SPASH representatives will take part in the protest on October 24, 2026, from 11:00 outside the Prime Minister’s Office and will then, at 14:00, be outside the Ministry of Education alongside the students, in solidarity with them and in support of their demands.
