Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) MP Ganimete Musliu said every member of parliament should contribute if President Justina Shiroka-Pula requests a review or amendment of the Law on the Special Court. She said any such action must be taken in accordance with the Constitution and the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly.
Musliu made the remarks after today’s parliamentary session, as the Law on Specialist Chambers and the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office remains pending a decision by the president.

She stressed that laws are passed to serve citizens and be implemented, highlighting the importance of the Law on the Special Court and MPs’ obligation to review it if such a request is made.
“Laws passed by the Assembly of Kosovo are not drafted for MPs, but for citizens and for implementation. The Law on Specialist Chambers is a law of extraordinary importance. Nevertheless, for any law that requires re-amendment or review, we as MPs must respect the will of the citizens,” Musliu said.
The MP added that if the president asks for the law to be reviewed or amended, the Assembly must act within the limits set by the Constitution and parliamentary procedures.
“If the president requests a review or re-amendment of the law, every MP must contribute while respecting the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly and the Constitution. These documents oblige us to review laws whenever such a request is made,” she said.
The Law on the Special Court has been awaiting President Justina Shiroka-Pula’s decision on whether to promulgate it for several days. In recent days, media outlets have reported that the president is considering returning the law to the Assembly for review.
So far, these reports have not been officially confirmed and do not establish that the law will be returned to the Assembly.
