This Thursday, the next plenary session in the Albanian Parliament began with strong tensions and noise, turning the hall into a true arena of clashes.
The heavy atmosphere comes as a result of the blockade created by opposition MPs and the recent expulsions of some of them by the Ethics Committee.

From the very first minutes of the lawmakers’ entry, the hall was engulfed in chaos, making the normal conduct of proceedings impossible.
Despite repeated and desperate calls for calm, the session chair found it extremely difficult to restore order. Amid the massive noise, the minutes of the previous session were approved in principle and the submission of several new draft laws was announced.
The situation worsened further when it became known that the Conference of Chairpersons had failed to reach any understanding on the program and calendar of parliamentary work, forcing their approval directly in the plenary session.
While changes to parliamentary delegations were being read out, with new appointments such as those of MPs Elisa Spiropali and Evis Kushi, tensions only increased. The session chair repeatedly addressed opposition MPs, especially MP Belind Këlliçi, asking them time and again to wait for the opening procedures to conclude before taking the floor. In such a suffocating climate, the substance of the session faded into the background, completely overshadowed by noise and the lack of institutional dialogue.
