Russia is in principle ready to return to the negotiating table with Ukraine and the United States during November, with the aim of ending the conflict. The statement was made by Kremlin foreign policy adviser Yuri Ushakov after Russian President Vladimir Putin met on Wednesday with US special envoy Steve Witkoff.
According to Reuters, Ushakov said the next round of negotiations should aim to establish a security system for Russia and Ukraine after the war ends.

The last negotiations between the three parties took place in February.
Ushakov told the Vesti television channel that the next meeting could be held in Abu Dhabi around mid-November.
During the meeting with Putin, Witkoff briefed him on talks held the previous day in Oslo. There, the US envoy met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the Norwegian prime minister and the Finnish president.
According to Ushakov, Witkoff presented several new approaches and elements in the positions of the Europeans and Kyiv, but, he said, they did not include many points that could help resolve the Ukrainian crisis.
Putin and the US envoy also spoke for three hours about the implementation of the October 9 agreement reached between the Russian president and US President Donald Trump concerning the supply of Russian oil to US and global markets.
Another topic of discussion was the crisis in Iran, Ushakov said.
The Russian adviser said Vladimir Putin assessed that the space for diplomacy had not been exhausted and that reaching agreements with Tehran, Russia’s strategic partner, was both possible and necessary. He added that Moscow had reaffirmed its readiness to continue helping seek political and diplomatic solutions to the Iranian issue.
