In its response, the embassy described the Berlin Process as an important political platform for promoting regional cooperation and supporting European integration. It stressed that the aim is to deliver tangible benefits for citizens, including stronger ties between countries, greater freedom of movement and closer practical cooperation.
The embassy also welcomed the summit being held in Montenegro, which is leading the Berlin Process in 2026 and has made progress in EU accession negotiations.
According to the embassy, Montenegro’s position on the path to EU membership and its leadership of the process in 2026 make the summit a positive signal. Holding it in the country, the embassy added, shows that the region should play an increasingly significant role in shaping the future of the Berlin Process.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti will represent Kosovo at the summit.
Germany launched the Berlin Process in 2014 to increase cooperation among the Western Balkan countries and support their path toward European integration.
