Latvia welcomes the election of the president and Kosovo’s democratic efforts

Latvia’s representative to the United Nations Security Council (UN) welcomed the election of Justina Shiroka-Pula as Kosovo’s new president.

He also praised the country’s commitment to consolidating democratic institutions, the rule of law and inclusive governance, underscoring the importance of these efforts for Kosovo’s stability and European integration.

However, the Latvian representative expressed concern over the changes undertaken, particularly regarding the law on the Specialist Chambers.
