The United States Embassy has reacted following the student protests that have spread across the country. Today’s protest was the fifth in a row and was accompanied by intense clashes between demonstrators and police forces.

Students and young people are demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, as well as the departure of his government.
In its statement, the US Embassy called on all sides to show restraint and maintain calm.
The embassy stressed that citizens should exercise their right to protest peacefully and without resorting to violent acts.
According to the statement, violence, unrest, physical harm to other people and the destruction of property do not constitute civic engagement. For this reason, the appeal was addressed to all citizens who choose to demonstrate, as well as to all sides, urging restraint and calm.
