Salianji held Rama’s government responsible for the clashes between citizens and the State Police. According to him, both sides have similar concerns and face insecurity.

On the one hand, he said, there are poor citizens and young people who feel oppressed and mistreated; on the other are police officers, whom Salianji described as mistreated and used by those in power.

Salianji’s reaction:

“Edi Rama’s misgovernance has today brought about a fierce clash in Albania. He bears responsibility because he has pitted against each other two sides that essentially have the same problems: poor citizens and oppressed and mistreated young people, on the one hand, and police officers, mistreated and used by those in power, on the other.

These sides are not opponents. They share the same concerns, insecurity and need for dignity.

Edi Rama bears political responsibility for this clash because he turns citizens against one another instead of solving their problems.

Albania needs accountability, dignity and change, not more division, violence and injustice.

Edi Rama, resign!”
