The student protest in Tirana was marked by tensions and serious clashes. The situation escalated during the gathering, with reports of police violence against high school and university students.

Several police officers were also injured in the clashes. This evening, one of them, who was near the spot where a fire broke out, suffered burns to his legs after being caught in the flames. The fire was extinguished immediately, and the situation was brought under control.
The officer’s wife reacted angrily while speaking to journalists, threatening the student she said was responsible for the incident.
“If anything happens to my husband, I will wipe out that student’s entire family. He has been injured,” she said.
Meanwhile, protesters claim police beat them with rubber and wooden batons. High school and university students were also seen being dragged and struck by officers during the protest.
