From the square where the protest is taking place, Agron Shehaj, leader of the Possibility Party, addressed Prime Minister Edi Rama in a video message, calling on him to announce his resignation immediately. According to Shehaj, stepping down without delay is necessary to end the tensions created by the students’ revolt, before a tragedy occurs.

This Saturday marks the fifth day of the escalating protest, which has once again brought together hundreds of thousands of young people. Today, they faced a heavier police presence, while police used rubber bullets, stones and large quantities of tear gas against them.
In his appeal, Shehaj insisted that Rama announce his resignation as soon as possible so that the situation could come to an end and a tragedy be avoided. He said that the prime minister could neither continue to remain in office nor fire on protesters and students, repeating his call for him to step down immediately.
