Meanwhile, the police investigation is ongoing, and the 25-year-old initially arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on bail pending further developments in the case.
Alisha was found on Thursday with fatal stab wounds. At around 2 a.m., police arrived at Dorking Avenue after residents called to report hearing screams and shouting near the homes.
Witnesses said a vehicle had been seen crashing forcefully into a police van in the area. A man was pulled from the car, while a 25-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder and later released on bail.
The circumstances surrounding the 26-year-old’s death have not yet been fully established. Authorities are gathering further information and are checking whether other people may have been involved in the incident.
News of Alisha’s death prompted an outpouring of grief on social media, where her friends posted photos and memories of her. They described the 26-year-old as loving, funny and big-hearted.
Aimee Quinn, one of her closest friends, wrote on Facebook that she still could not believe the loss and did not know how she would cope with life without the conversations she had with Alisha every day.
Quinn remembered their laughter, trips and plans to travel the world together. To her, Alisha was not just a friend, but a true sister.
“You were more of a sister to me than a friend, a good listener and beautiful inside and out,” Aimee Quinn wrote.
Another friend described Alisha as one of the kindest and funniest people she had ever known, adding that she would always be grateful for the chance to have known her.
Carris Mallon, also a friend of the 26-year-old, wrote that she could not imagine how she would live without her and that their bond would last forever.
The incident has also affected the local community. Keith Steel, 67, said his wife had been woken by the noise and screams in the early hours of the morning.
A woman who brought flowers to the scene said her daughter had attended the same school as Alisha. She described the young woman as intelligent and beautiful, with a smile that lit up every room.
Police cordoned off the area to secure and collect evidence, while forensic specialists carried out the necessary work as part of the investigation.
The investigation is being led by Detective Chief Inspector Justin Bryant. He said teams were working intensively to identify and find everyone who may be connected to Alisha’s death.
Bryant clarified that the 25-year-old’s release on bail does not mean the investigation is over. He also urged the public not to draw conclusions or speculate about the circumstances of the incident.
The inspector said that sharing unconfirmed information could hinder the authorities’ work and cause further distress to the victim’s family.
Alisha Samuels’ family has asked for privacy during this difficult time. Police have urged anyone with information about the incident to contact the authorities.
The investigation is continuing, and the full circumstances that led to the 26-year-old’s tragic death have not yet been disclosed.
