In Haradinaj’s assessment, the way a leader approaches national interests is also linked to his ability to serve the citizens of the country he leads. She stressed that a leader who is not beneficial to the nation cannot be beneficial to his own citizens either.

Referring to developments in northern Kosovo and attacks by criminal groups, the former top diplomat said she had expected greater support from the head of the Albanian government. She recalled the incidents and attacks of only a few years ago, which she attributed to Vučić’s criminal gangs.

Haradinaj said that under those circumstances, expectations of Rama went beyond symbolic solidarity. According to her, as the prime minister of an NATO member state, Rama was expected to support Kosovo, while his stance demonstrated that he had not served Albanian interests.
