The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has conveyed condolences to the families and friends of four people who lost their lives in a tragic accident in Greece. Among the victims were three Albanians, while Kurti expressed deep sorrow over the news of their death.
In a Facebook post, he said the accident occurred at the end of last month and took the lives of young Albanian-American lawyer Florida Hoxha, her husband Ian Kirkpatrick, her brother Florin Hoxha and his wife Eris Cani. The latter was in her fifth month of pregnancy.

Remembering Florida, Kurti recalled meeting her in New York last year, during his official visit for the High-Level Week of the UN General Assembly. He said the Albanian Professionals and Entrepreneurs Network (APEN) had invited him to a conversation with members of the Albanian diaspora in the region, an event where Florida was one of the moderators.
The head of government described the lawyer as a figure who brought honor to the Albanian diaspora and who played an important role in her community and profession. At that meeting, Florin and Eris were also among those present.
According to Kurti, although the acquaintance with Florida and the other participants lasted only a few hours, that time was enough to notice the qualities that had made her so appreciated by friends, colleagues and clients. He singled out her optimism, idealism, treatment of everyone with respect and as equals, and her commitment to creating lasting connections between Albanian emigrants in the United States and the countries they came from.
Kurti described the passing of Florida, Ian, Florin and Eris as a heavy loss for all the people whose lives they had touched. He stressed that these four young professionals had given a lot in a short time and aimed to do even more in the future. In closing, he expressed heartfelt condolences to their relatives and friends, wishing that their exemplary lives remain unforgettable.
