In a post on X, Schuebel said the move keeps Kosovo fully aligned with the European Union’s Common Foreign and Security Policy.
“I welcome Kosovo’s decision today to align with an additional EU restrictive measure against Russia in support of Ukraine, as well as with the statements of the 27 EU member states, thereby maintaining its full alignment with the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy,” the ambassador wrote.
He said Kosovo’s continued alignment with EU positions demonstrates its commitment to European principles and values.
“Kosovo’s continued commitment to the Common Foreign and Security Policy reflects its respect for European values,” Schuebel said.
The Kosovo government today approved amendments to its 2022 decision, which was issued after the start of Russian aggression in Ukraine and concerns the implementation of the Council of the European Union’s decision on international sanctions against Russia.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti said the decision aims to bring Kosovo into closer alignment with the European Union’s foreign and security policy.
