“Stop the terror by the thugs of the narco-state against courageous students! Honor to the students on a mission!” Berisha wrote in a post on social media.
Earlier, Gazment Bardhi also reacted to the protest. He said that young people seeking a better Albania should be met with respect and answers, not violence and repression.
“The young men and women protesting for a better Albania deserve respect, not violence; answers, not repression; freedom, not intimidation!” Bardhi said.
According to him, the use of force against young people shows the authorities’ fear of their voice and of the change they are demanding. Bardhi stressed that no authority can silence through violence the voice of a generation seeking dignity, justice and a future in its own country.
“Do not confuse silence with obedience or fear with submission. Young people cannot be intimidated, bought off or stopped! Every act of violence against students is an act against Albania’s future. And every authority that chooses violence in the face of young people is accelerating the loss of its own legitimacy,” he declared.
