How was Agasi arrested?
Ergys Agasi, who was wanted by the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK) over abuses involving AKSHI tenders, was arrested by police in the Plepa area of Durrës after initially being located in Elbasan. Former police officer Uljan Shpataraku was also arrested with him. Agasi is accused of creating a structured criminal group with Ermal Beqiraj, who was arrested in France a few weeks ago, to manipulate public tenders through corruption, violence and kidnapping.
As part of this case, the former director of AKSHI had her security measure eased to “obligation to report.” Following the arrest of Agasi and former police officer Uljan Shpataraku in Plepa, Durrës, police conducted a surprise search, on the orders of SPAK, at Shpataraku’s home in the “Dry Lake” area to seize electronic evidence and documents related to the AKSHI case.
