According to the prosecution’s statement, the proposal requested that the court impose bail on the defendant in the total amount of €195,820, equivalent to 12,042,932 denars, to be secured by a mortgage on real estate.
However, according to the prosecution, when making its decision, the court must pay particular attention to the fact that the statement consenting to the offered property being used as security was given by defendant Dejan Jovanov even though he was aware that part of the offered real estate was subject to enforcement proceedings and could not be mortgaged, much less liquidated.
In addition, the prosecution points out that the offered real estate consists mainly of auxiliary premises, buildings, barns and stables that had previously been unauthorized constructions; if necessary, this property would be extremely difficult to convert into cash, and certainly not for the amount at which it was valued.
Tomorrow marks the expiration of the one-year pretrial detention of the first defendant, Dejan Jovanov-Deko, in the “Pulse” fire case, which is the statutory maximum from the date the indictment was assessed./Telegrafi/
