North Macedonia’s Ministry of Interior has announced that eight people were detained during operations carried out at various locations in Skopje and Tetovo on suspicion of involvement in the illegal trade of narcotic substances.

According to the statement, on 29 and 30 September 2026, in Skopje, police officers from the Skopje Border Protection Service arrested R.R. (50), A.M. (31) and S.A. (33), all three from Skopje, D.K. from the village of Volkovo in the Skopje region, and H.A. (32) from Berovo. During the searches, they found and seized a white powdery substance, a thick substance, marijuana and a grinder.
Meanwhile, on 30 September 2026, at around 3:40 a.m., N.Ç. (33) from Skopje, as well as A.L. (21) and A.V. (25), both from Pristina, Republic of Kosovo, were detained at the Tetovo Police Station. All three had been deprived of their liberty the previous day, on 29 September 2026, by officers of the Rogaçevë Border Surveillance Police Station after marijuana was found and seized during a search.
The authorities said that, after the cases have been fully documented, the relevant reports will also be filed.
