The Constitutional Court has rejected the Democratic Party’s request concerning the election of Endri Shabani to the post of Ombudsman, a process which, according to the DP, was carried out in violation of parliamentary procedures.

The Democratic Party stated that the signatures of Democratic deputies had also been misused in the process. According to the party, the signatures had been withdrawn beforehand, and Endri Shabani was not a candidacy supported by the Democratic parliamentary group.
On December 11, Parliament voted for Endri Shabani as Ombudsman. He received 85 votes in favor from deputies of the Socialist Party and the Social Democratic Party, and three against.
The Democratic Party and the Mundësia Party did not take part in the vote.
