During routine checks of buses entering Kosovo, Customs officials identified a suspected attempted smuggling case at the Vërmicë Border Crossing Point.

The customs inspection covered the bus’s luggage compartment and passengers’ personal suitcases, where goods that had not been declared to the relevant authorities were found.
Among the items discovered was a new and unused coffee machine, as well as other products accompanied by an invoice. The total value of the goods is estimated at around 4,100 euros.
After establishing the case, Kosovo Customs acted in accordance with the provisions of customs legislation and initiated the relevant procedures.
The institution emphasizes that it will continue its efforts against smuggling, protecting the financial interests of the Republic of Kosovo, as well as ensuring fair competition and the equal enforcement of the law at all border crossing points.
