In a video shared on social media, Korreshi showed the condition of the station and also made public a message he received from one of the employees.
The employee reported that, in addition to the unsuitable conditions, wages, the bonus promised by the prime minister and payments for overtime had not been paid for around 20 days.
“Hello, Mr. Saimir Korreshi. We have a very serious problem here at the MZSH (Fire Service) station. The problem is that they have left us on a hill which, if you come and see it up close, is a mess. Rats and all kinds of insects come out, and I don’t know how to explain it; it’s a catastrophe. Another problem we have is our wages. It has been approximately 20 days that they have not given us either our wages, the bonus promised by the prime minister or payment for the overtime we have worked. We have received only 500,000 lekë, as if we were municipal employees, not fire service workers. They have not paid us either the overtime or the bonus. We want to know where they have taken our money. Please keep my name anonymous. Thank you very much, Mr. Saimir Korreshi.”
Korreshi accompanied the post with an appeal for the footage to be watched carefully, recalling the invitation he made the previous day to see the situation at the station together.
