After leaving office as interior minister, Besfort Lamallari reacted in a social media post, expressing his gratitude for the responsibilities entrusted to him over the years by Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Lamallari, who is expected to be replaced at the helm of the Ministry of the Interior by Ervin Demo, reflected on his journey in public administration and, in particular, on his time leading the Ministry of the Interior, an institution where he says he was shaped professionally and politically.
In his message, Lamallari thanked Prime Minister Rama for his trust and said that he would continue his engagement as part of the government team, now in another role. He also wished his successor, Ervin Demo, success in leading the Ministry of the Interior.

Leading the Ministry of Justice and, in particular, the Ministry of the Interior, the institution where I grew professionally, politically and, above all, as a person, is more than a privilege. It is the ‘book of life’ that guides you onward at every subsequent station.
For this extraordinary opportunity, I will always be grateful to Prime Minister Edi Rama, whom I will now have the distinct pleasure of honoring in return for the great honor and trust he has placed in me, also through my new engagement as part of His team.
It has been an unforgettable journey with the best team by my side and blessed by my family’s support, even unto sacrifice.
