Vushtrri: One month in pretrial detention for suspect in attempted murder, two suspects remain at large

The court has ordered 30 days of pretrial detention for suspect N.M. in connection with the attempted murder that occurred on September 30 in Vushtrri.

The decision was confirmed to KosovaPress by the court’s spokesperson, Hateme Haxhaj.

“The defendant N.M. has been placed in pretrial detention for a period of 30 (thirty) days on reasonable suspicion of committing the criminal offense of attempted murder under Article 172 in conjunction with Articles 28 and 31 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo, as well as the criminal offense of unauthorized ownership, control or possession of weapons, under Article 366, paragraph 1, of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo,” Haxhaj said.

The pretrial detention will be calculated from October 7 to November 7, 2026.

Meanwhile, the Basic Prosecution Office in Mitrovica said in a written response to KosovaPress that the two other suspects in the case remain at large.

The Kosovo Police had reported that the victim, a male person, was allegedly attacked by several unidentified individuals, who struck him with blunt objects. After sustaining injuries, he was taken for treatment to the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (UCCK).

During the examination of the crime scene, authorities found an accident-damaged vehicle, four shell casings, a magazine containing five rounds and another round inside the vehicle.
