VLEN: Only after Ali Ahmeti ended up in opposition did Zajaz learn the reason why it was left without sewage

VLEN says that over the course of 24 years, Ali Ahmeti failed to provide sewage infrastructure even for his birthplace, Zajaz. According to them, the village remains without sewage to this day, and with the files now coming to light, the reason is also becoming clearer.

“Every new piece of information that comes to light further tears down the facade of DUI. Albanians were spoken to about ‘causes,’ but behind the scenes cooperation contracts were being signed, local companies were being involved, and millions of euros from European funds were being circulated. Residents were waiting for sewage infrastructure, while someone else was waiting for the payments. The more this issue is unraveled, the more questions arise. Who benefited? Who brought the companies into the project? Who turned a blind eye? And will the investigation reach every link in this chain?”

VLEN stresses that Albanians have the right to know the truth, to learn where the millions ended up, who benefited from the project, and why for 24 years Zajaz was left with septic pits, without even an elementary solution. “Zajaz will no longer remain hostage to DUI’s promises. What they left in the mud for 24 years, we are now setting on the right path. VLEN will not allow this issue to be covered in dust. It demands that the investigation go all the way. Every contract, payment, company, and every possible political, business, or family connection must be opened up. DUI left behind debts and suspicions. Now it must be held accountable,” VLEN said.
