This Wednesday, a serious road incident shook Tirana, as a cement mixer collided with a car at the Unaza e Madhe roundabout, near TEG. After the forceful impact, the heavy vehicle lost control, left the roundabout, and fell onto another vehicle on the road below, causing the death of one person and injuring two others.
About three years ago, the same area was the scene of another road tragedy, which took the lives of two young women and left four people injured. In that case, an “Audi” vehicle broke through the side barriers and plunged from the overpass, hitting a “Honda” car moving below.

The two girls in the “Audi” did not survive, while the driver of that vehicle suffered serious injuries. Additionally, three passengers in the “Honda” were hurt in the double collision.
Road accidents continue to remain a worrying challenge for the country, highlighting the need for more effective preventive measures.
